Kobelco has officially rolled out three impressive additions to its renowned short-radius excavator range: the SK380SRLC-7, SK225SR-7, and SK235SR-7—each one built to meet the evolving demands of tight-access worksites without compromising on performance or durability.
Since pioneering the short-radius concept in 1996, Kobelco has continued to refine the formula—designing machines that can work efficiently in confined spaces while delivering the strength and capabilities contractors expect from full-sized models. With infrastructure density increasing across Australia’s cities and suburbs, the release of these new machines couldn’t come at a better time.Â
Kobelco Unleashes New Short-Radius Excavator Line-Up in Australia

Kobelco has expanded its short-radius excavator range with the launch of three new models in Australia: the SK380SRLC-7, SK225SR-7, and SK235SR-7. These machines are purpose-built for high-performance operation in confined spaces—ideal for urban infrastructure, roadworks, and utility projects.
The SK380SRLC-7 leads the charge as Kobelco’s heaviest and most powerful short-radius model to date. Featuring a 210kW Isuzu engine and just 305mm of tail overhang, it delivers full-size capability in a compact frame. Operators benefit from a redesigned Series 7 cabin focused on comfort, control, and productivity. Power boost and heavy-lift modes give it serious muscle when needed, while reinforced components and fast swing speeds improve cycle times on-site.
The mid-sized SK225SR-7 and SK235SR-7 were introduced soon after, offering precise hydraulics, strong lifting capacity, and a reduced working footprint of under 4.1 metres. Reinforced arms and upgraded bucket cylinders bring added durability, while Tier 3 engines simplify maintenance by removing the need for DPF or AdBlue systems.
Together, these new models reflect Kobelco’s continued commitment to innovation in the short-radius category. Built to meet rising demand for compact power, they combine strength, smart design, and operational efficiency—making them a standout choice for contractors tackling today’s tightest jobsitesset attachment modes directly from the cabin.
